Uganda is one of the most beautiful countries in Africa and is truly gifted by nature. The country has such breath-taking scenes and flora and fauna that Sir Winston Churchill the famous British premier described it as "the Pearl of Africa". With the size approximately that of the British Isle, Uganda has over 10 wildlife protected areas with a diversity of plants of wildlife. This is due to its geographical location on the continent. The Country lies in the region where the Sahara desert in the northern hemisphere transitions into the tropical rain forest regions of Africa. The country has the equator running across it with huge rain forests and a number of great lakes and rivers running from one end to the other. Uganda is home to the source of the legendary Nile river which runs through many countries as it makes its way up to the Mediterranean sea in Egypt.

It is because of this that the country has become such a hot tourism destination for those coming to do an African Safari offering tour packages that range from adventure sporting activities to wildlife safari packages.

There are a number of national parks each offering unique tour attractions such as Bwindi national park which one of only 4 national parks in the World offering mountain gorilla tour packages. Mountain gorilla trekking is the number one Uganda tour attraction closely followed by Murchison falls safari packages. Uganda gorilla permits cost $500 dollars each for peak seasons - this cost is inclusive of park entrance fees and guide fees (in the park). A mountain gorilla tracking can take up to 8 hours depending on the movements of the mountain gorilla family that you are tracking. Of all the wildlife encounters a mountain gorilla safari is probably the most enthralling as you finally stare into the deep brown eyes of these gentle giants. There are only about 800 mountain gorillas left in the Wild in the World, with half of that population in Bwindi impenetrable forest in Uganda.

The other places where one can do mountain gorilla tours is in Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo. In Rwanda, gorilla tracking in Volcanoes is the easily carried out as it is every near and accessible from Kigali whereas in Congo, Virunga gorilla trekking is not so popular due to the insecurity that the region has faced recently. However it is the cheapest of all the three Countries.

I will be discussing more tour packages to Uganda so you can get a picture of what this beautiful paradise called Uganda has to offer to the World.
